Hi there, Almonds! Welcome back!
If you’re just finding your way here, welcome to A for Almonds, a weekly newsletter for nuts like me.
This week, I’m sharing my favorite product finds of 2022.
10. Charter Club 550 thread count Supima Cotton Duvet cover- Basically like sleeping on Four Seasons bedding, which, of course, you could buy, but with a dupe this good, why bother? I love the feel of this bedding. Crisp, cool, and wrinkle free. The difference that sets these apart from other perfectly good, but not great, sheets is that these are 100% supima cotton.
9. Exfoliating Washcloth- So, technically I’ve owned this gem prior to 2022, but it was this year when I realized it could replace a dry brush. It’s less expensive, and ergonomically speaking it can reach places a dry brush can’t (I’m talking about you, mid-back). It's also machine washable. Ever tried throwing your dry brush in the wash? I didn’t think so.
8. Igroom Figue spray for dogs- My dogs are a rough and tumble bunch. They dig, they roll, they inspect every mudpuddle like it’s a crime scene. Dog baths are a frequent occurrence, but that unmistakable smell of wet dog is not since I learned of this spray. My boys aren’t delicate little flowers, but they can at least smell like they have some sense of decorum with a little spritz of this spray.
7. Blundstone boots- Pennsylvania is a four season state. It is absolutely beautiful, and I love each season differently. For three of those seasons, there’s a solid chance at some point you’ll need to deal with some rain, snow, mud, and muck. Buundstones make you look rugged chic while doing it. They also might be the most comfortable shoe I own. I’m exceptionally fond of boots in navy.
6. Pre-cut parchment sheets- I’ve written about these before, but they needed to be included in my favorites lists because I don’t think there’s a day that goes by that one doesn’t get used. Kitchen prep and clean up are a snap now that I have these around.
5. Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream- I’m a sucker for a multitasking product. There’s so many uses for this that I haven’t found something it can’t do. The name’s deceiving. It’s really more of an ointment than a cream. It’s great for cuts or rashes but it also works as an awesome lip balm or eye cream. I love it for brows too.
4. Away Backpack- I am in the “carry on only” camp. But, no matter how well I plan, not everything fits in a carry-on bag for a long trip. I use a backpack as my personal item. (I’m practical, remember?) I’d been carrying an older model Lululemon backpack for years, but I upgraded to this backpack. It has an unusually large interior with lots of pockets and slides onto my Away carry on, rolling through airports seamlessly. I get to give my back a much needed break from the weighty snacks, socks, and sleep gear necessary for long haul flights.
3. Drain Weasel- I am a habitual drain clogger. I blame my Rapunzel-ish length hair that sheds more than our golden retriever. None of the chemical drain cleaners do a great job on hair clogs, and I was constantly battling slow draining sinks until I found the drain weasel. It’s also curiously satisfying to reel it down the drain and unclog all the gunk.
2. Athletic Greens- I struggle to get my greens in daily. I’ve also dealt with gut challenges this past year. Finding and committing to AG1 changed both. It’s the first thing I consume after a workout, and I’ve found incredible benefits from the pre & probiotics.
1. Westman Atelier Vital Skin Care Complexion Drops- My favorite product of the year! I love the light coverage the tint gives and the fact that it's a serum that does good for your skin. All with clean beauty ingredients.
Have a happy and healthy new year, and I look forward to our journey together in 2023!
xo,
A
